Gerald Binghoven

Gerald is a prolific author and writer of stories. Gerald's Autobiography: When I was but a young lad, the age where the line between reality and fantasy is gossamer thin, my father took me on adventures in the woods. We would look for fairies behind the mushrooms, dragons atop craggy mountains (or the closest thing to mountains in our humble corner of the world), and sea monsters in the shallow depths of our backyard pond. "Gerald," he'd say, "the world is full of magic; you've just got to know where to look." But as I grew, the magic seemed to fade. I went to school, learned about science, politics, and all the 'ologies you can imagine. The fairies retreated into folklore, dragons into mythology, and sea monsters into old sailors' tales. But a peculiar thing happened. In my quiet moments, scribbling in notebooks and doodling in margins, I found the magic returning, seeping through the ink of my pen. Ah, the ink! Ink is such a fascinating thing, isn't it? With a swish and flick, it brings to life new worlds, creates heroes and villains, and composes melodies of words that dance across the pages. And so, I decided that I'd become an ink-wielder, a word-weaver, a scribe of stories. Or, in less fanciful terms, a writer. And what would I write about, you ask? I write for the young and the young at heart, for those who've grown up but haven't grown old. I wanted to share stories that let people escape from the daily grind, to leap into fantastical realms and impossible adventures. I sought to blend the whimsy of childhood tales with the intricate storytelling of a more mature age. If you've ever found yourself entranced by Neil Gaiman's mythical landscapes or felt a sense of home reading C.S. Lewis' allegorical worlds, then you've touched on the essence of my works. Each tale I write has a dollop of the fantastical: a watch that can reverse time but only for five seconds, a tree that speaks in Shakespearean verse, or a small town where every inhabitant is an exile from a different fairy tale. But look closely, and you'll find simple truths and morals woven into the narrative—a guide for the perplexed, if you will. The Inkwell Never Dries You might be tempted to think that a life spent in fantasy is wasted. I'd argue the opposite. Through these imagined realms, we often find the most enduring truths about ourselves and the world around us. Fantasy, after all, is the reality of the soul. It gives voice to hopes, fears, dreams, and even nightmares. And if you've ever picked up one of my books, taken the journey, and returned just a little different than before, then the ink, my friends, has served its purpose.
